HOW TO PREPARE FOR O LEVEL'S MATH
HOW TO PREPARE FOR O LEVELS MATHS
I LOVE MATHS AND HONESTLY WAS THE TOPPER OF THIS SUBJECT AS WELL................SO HERE ARE MY TOP FIVE TIPS ON ACING YOUR EXAM. ( this article contain the tips that are never given anywhere before . so read it till the end to get the exact idea of what to do )๐๐๐
1 : practice past papers : well everybody knows we have to practice when it comes to learning maths , so whats new i am sharing.................well! tell me share an experience of mine our sir ( sir shahid ) was a wonderful maths teacher and he had printed out past papers from 2011 till 2019 for us in form of booklets and we had to complete them before our exams . those booklets included 11 , 12 ,21,22 and etc. so those made up tons of unsolved papers and luckily i had completed it before my mocks. purpose of telling it is when you do same thing again and again you don't get it wrong and love to do more of it. by the end of the year i had done every topic so so many times that i knew i was gonna do them all correct๐๐. so the tip of the day is to get the grip of your on past papers and better you print then out in form of booklets like my sir did for us. and it was my routine to must solve 1 paper 1 and 1 paper 2 daily. even if i was dam tired i didn't allow myself to sleep until i was done with this.
2 : Dealing with topics : well ! here is the strategy i followed . whenever we learnt a new topic for example topic of locus. on that very day i would come home and without thinking anything i would do all the question from MATHS CLASSIFIED ( if you don't know about this book i highly recommend you go and buy it right now ) and after about 15 to 20 chapter i would gain my grip over the topic and i never had to worry about it. this is perhaps the best practical way to get maths in your head.
3 : paper 2 : ok !so i want to discuss some facts regarding paper two. although you have 2 hours and 30 minutes to do this paper i always found myself short of time even in my mocks i had to leave whole question of graph of function which had 12 marks and unlike my finals i got a B in my mocks so after my mocks were over i tried my level best to figure out the reason until i found it.paper 2 is all about your guts to attempt any challenge.the main reason of my failure was the pattern i followed while doing my paper..................... always , always do the locus question first as it is the easiest and give you quick marks plus the concept of building archs and stuff relaxes your mind. next up do every one to 2 mark question , giving each two minute. then do the mensuration question that earns you 12 marks and is quite fun to solve and so on. when it comes to doing the main 12 marks question that is of graph of function............i had done about 100 questions of them before exam cuz this was the topic i struggled in until one of our brilliant teachers told a secret to deal this question.... ( i can write a separate article on it if you want.....comment below .......trust me its mind blowing ). so always have a stopwatch with you when you solve a paper 2 believe me time management is a big issue, even though calculator is allowed, which you need to overcome .
4 ; paper one : honestly paper one is easy guys ,,,,,i know some of you would say ( hey ! how is it easy .calculator is not allowed ! and stuff like that ) i know calculator is not allowed but the questions you are given are super solvable as well.when you will be giving exam ....if you have good preparation.....you would feel like sitting in a seventh grade exam hall๐๐๐. still there are some tips i want to give. specification can help a lot in paper one because there are lots of things you need to now that earn you 1 1 mark. like you need to know how to convert a number in standard form or what are prime, whole, irrational numbers etc. so the specifications clearly give you an idea. next, all of the one to two marks question do them with lead pencil and redo it with pen when you finish the whole paper. this is something i wish i had done in my finals cuz i remember the mess i made on question paper........anyways๐ถ. again i would say to do locus question first and then proceed. i didn't find time running out in paper 1 cuz it was easy. yeah ! never write in side columns if you need extra space write at bottom of page as anything you write at side columns is never accepted. again i would suggest to solve as many past papers as you can before your appear
5 : ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
,Paper 1 : 2 hours long, 11 – 13 questions, 80 marks, 44% of total weightage

If you look up the Math O Level syllabus online or elsewhere, you’ll see that it mentions that the omission of essential working will result in the loss of marks. so, make sure you put down every little bit of working, even if you’ve written it somewhere the examiner can’t see. Put the working down clearly, big and center. Don’t ever assume that you can skip steps with the assumption that the examiner will understand as long as you get the correct final answer, or that they have seen the correct working from other students and will just give you full credit for the marks. Also, take note of something called “step by step” working. This working is progressive, meaning that they are a few steps. If any steps are omitted, you will lose all the marks. For final answers, the default standard is 3 significant figures, but ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS check what the question says they want the final answer to be rounded up/down to. It happens way too often that the question is deceptively easy, and students gleefully write down their final answer to 3 significant figures. However, the question was actually asking them for rounding up to the nearest hundred, or something non-standard.Angles is to one decimal place. Note : even for angles that don’t seem to have decimals, eg : 56. Make that 56.0 degrees, due to the 3 significant figure rule.I HOPE YOU FOUNND THIS ARTICLE HELPFUL.............GOOD LUCK
