GCSE BIOLOGY PAPER 1....detailed points discussed....section 1

HOW TO PREPARE FOR GCSE BIOLOGY

SPECIFIC TIPS [PAPER 1] section 1

SINCE WE HAVE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT GENERAL TIPS OF PREPARING FOR GCSE BIOLOGY  LETS TALK ABOUT THE SPECIFIC ONE THAT I FOUND WERE EXTREMELY USEFUL IN HELPING ME GET AN A* IN GCSE BIOLOGY AND I AM SURE THEY WILL HELP YOU GUYS AS WELL
LETS START THEN......

SO GUYS THERE ARE 3 PAPERS OF GCSES BIOLOGY....PAPER 1,2 AND 6
I WILL START WITH PAPER 1 AND FOR EVERY PAPER I AM GOING TO SEPARATE AND CATEGORIES THE TOPICS THAT ARE NECESSARY TO COVER. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU SOME TOPICS THAT ALMOST ALWAYS COME . YOU MAY CHECK THEM IN PAST PAPERS IF U DONT BELIEVE ME.I WILL DIVIDE THESE TOPICS INTO SECTIONS AND WILL MAKE SURE U ARE WELL AWARE OF THEM.

LETS DISCUSS PAPER 1 FIRST ...P 1 COVERS ALMOST THE WHOLE BOOK IN A SEQUENCE. BUT IF U HAVE PREPARED THESE POINTS WELL I ASSURE U,U CAN EASILY SCORE ABOVE 75% MARKS IN PAPER 1

1:YOU MUST KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACTIVE AND PASSIVE TRANSPORT ...

2:YOU MUST KNOW THAT ACTIVE TRANSPORT TAKES PLACE IN UPTAKE OF GLUCOSE IN VILLI OF INTESTINE AND IN UPTAKE OF MINERAL IONS IN ROOT HAIR CELLS OF PLANTS.

3:THEN YOU MUST KNOW THAT IF A PLANT CELL IS TURGOR THEN THE CELL MEMBRANE DETACHES FROM CELL WALL.
4:YOU SHOULD HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF LOCK AND KEY HYPOTHESIS...THEY USUALLY ASK WHICH IS LOCK(ENZYME) AND WHAT IS KEY( SUBSTRATE).
5:YOU SHOULD SIMPLY CRAM THE GRAPHS OF EFFECT OF TEMP OR PH ON RATE OF ENZYME BASED REACTION

6:YOU SHOULD KNOW ENZYMES ARE PROTEIN IN NATURE AND CAN BE DENATURED WHEN TEMP OR PH ARE NOT OPTIMUM

7:THERE ARE CERTAIN TEST ON FOOD SUCH AS BENEDICT TEST ON REDUCING SUGAR

AND OTHERS U SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE RESULTS OF THESE TEST ...WHICH THEY USUALLY ASK IN P 1 AS THE REST OF INVESTIGATION ARE TACKLED IN P 6.

8:THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW THE HYDROLYZED PRODUCTS OF FATS PROTIENS AND STARCH

9; remember paper 1 they usually ask the reason for certain diseases for example the disease nutritional anaemia is caused by deficiency of proteins or rickets is caused by deficiency of vitamin D or calcium

10:Then you should know that the proteins are digested in stomach mainly starch is digested in mouth mainly and fats and staff are digested in small intestine and the remaining proteins and starch also digested in ileum.

11: then you should know the concept of antagonistic muscles and the best examples of them are the two longitudinal and circular muscles found in the gut that cause peristalsis  and the two muscles iris muscles present in Eyes

12: you should know the function of bile that is secreted by liver ,stored in gallbladder and transported to intestine through bile duct and its function is to emulsified fat only and not digesting fat.
13: you should know that the urea is produced by the deamination of proteins in liver.

14: you should make yourself well aware of the results of investigations that are included in the chapter concerning photosynthesis.
15: Well everybody knows that the opening and closing of stomata is controlled by guard cells
but you should know when there is increase in sunlight the guard cells open to the maximum potential and when there is decrease in sunlight opposite happens.........TIRED?
if you have known up till this much you have covered one third of gcses biology book.i have divided this topics into 4 sections .for now i will say good luck for ur exams....stay tuned to read other sections as well........and if u liked it plz comment,so i keep posting.
